About

A demanding 6-mile out-and-back from Coniston village to the 803m summit. Steep underfoot but well-trodden, passing slate quarries and the Pudding Stone. Allow 4–5 hours and watch the weather.

Roger Recommends

"Descend via Goat's Water for a quieter route — most walkers retrace their steps."
