Brockhole on Windermere is the Lake District National Park Authority's flagship visitor centre. Set in a historic Arts & Crafts house overlooking the lake, it offers woodland gardens, lakeshore trails, a treetop trek, laser boats, mini golf, and kayak hire. A good option for a relaxed half-day or full day out from Hawkshead.
