About

A 4-mile loop from the Water Yeat lay-by up onto Beacon Fell (255m) and down to the tarn. Rough underfoot in places; boots recommended. One of the best wild-swim spots south of Coniston.

Roger Recommends

"Bring a swim towel — the tarn's south end has a gravel beach that's warm by August."
