About
One of the last working bobbin mills in the country, Stott Park produced wooden bobbins for the Lancashire cotton industry from 1835 until 1971. Now in the care of English Heritage, guided tours show the water- and steam-powered lathes still running. A brilliant rainy-day stop, and endlessly interesting for children and grandparents alike.
