About
A 2-mile there-and-back from the Tower Bank Arms in Near Sawrey, up Stony Lane onto Claife Heights and out to Moss Eccles Tarn. Potter bought the tarn in 1913 and stocked it with water lilies she rowed out to tend. A peaceful, magical spot with almost no one else there.
Roger Recommends
"Combine with a pint at the Tower Bank Arms on the way back — Potter drew it into The Tale of Jemima Puddle-Duck."
